Huller/Sheller Process
The Huller/Sheller role is to receive almonds from the field and efficiently separate the hulls, shells, and kernels. Using a combination of vibration, friction, and compressed air, the plant also removes dirt and debris, all while minimizing damage such as chips, scratches, splits, and breaks.
This process is achieved through the use of shear rolls, gravity tables, screens, vibratory decks, forced air aspiration, and bag houses to capture dust and impurities.
